How To Install Supermoto Wheels On Your Electric Pit Bike

How To Install Supermoto Wheels On Your Electric Pit Bike

Why Upgrade to Supermoto Wheels?

The stock wheels on most electric pit bikes are built for off-road — knobby tires, narrower rims, designed for dirt and loose terrain. Supermoto wheels swap that out for wider, slick-style tires on smooth rims built for pavement, hardpack, and tracks. The result is more grip on hard surfaces, better cornering, and a completely different ride feel.

It's one of the most popular upgrades for electric pit bikes, and for good reason: the transformation is immediate and the install is straightforward. This guide covers the full process and which wheel kits fit the most popular bikes — Tuttio, Anyland, Valtinsu, Heybike, Razor, and more.

What to Expect During the Install

Supermoto wheel installs on electric pit bikes are DIY-friendly. You don't need a shop or specialized tools — most riders complete the swap in under an hour. Here's the general process:

What you'll need:

  • Basic socket set and wrenches
  • Torque wrench (recommended)
  • Zip ties (for any brake line or cable management)
  • The wheel kit (front and/or rear)

The process:

  1. Put the bike on a stand or lift so the wheels are off the ground
  2. Remove the axle bolt, slide out the axle, and pull the stock wheel
  3. Transfer the brake rotor from the stock wheel to the new wheel if it isn't already included
  4. Slide the new wheel in, reinsert the axle, and torque to spec
  5. Check brake caliper alignment and adjust if needed
  6. Repeat front and rear

The full step-by-step install is in the video above — Kyle walks through the process on camera so you can follow along in real time. For Razor-specific installs, the process differs slightly due to the fork and axle design; the Razor-specific kits from The Watts Shop are modified to fit correctly out of the box.
